Although enduring a short history, the information and directions for this site's future are endless and ever changing. Robbie Inc. The fundamental idea behind us: from the grass roots, to keep you up to date with all that is happening at Robbie Inc. and new technologies evolving right before our eyes, but as time passes our goals will never stop expanding. Welcome, to Robbie Inc! ![]() Robert Dayton, CEO Robbie Inc. Jonathan Harris: Exploration of Humanity The internet has become a seemingly complex, emotionless, web of information. The way in which we interact on the internet eliminates many of the ways we communicate emotion. Sometimes I find it necessary to stop and visualize a less complex world just to find the simple things that make life enjoyable. The work of Jonathan Harris is a brilliantly different look into the humanity of the world through technology. Projects he has worked on include an array of web based programs that dig deep into the minds and thoughts of internet users through blogs, online dating services, and other collective databases. These programs catalogue information and display them in organized, meaningful, and often artistic ways that emit a vast scope of emotion and humanality that was seemingly lost on the internet. One project in particular, entitled, "We Feel Fine" searches weblogs for the phrase "I feel", storing the entire sentence containing those words. This phrase alone is the building block for millions of sentences written by people all over the world that emit emotion on many levels. Jonathan Harris's program organizes the information into an artistic interactive interface which you can click and read individual sentences. "At its core, We Feel Fine is an artwork authored by everyone. It will grow and change as we grow and change, reflecting what's on our blogs, what's in our hearts, what's in our minds." www.wefeelfine.org Gasoline: A Thing of The Past
What's in store for these CAT automobiles? First off, fueling this car involves a special air compressor. At a specially equipped fueling station, the CAT car can fuel the air tanks to over 4000 PSI in approximately 5 minutes. At home, you can refill the air tanks in about 3 hours. The result is a automobile capable of driving for approximately 150 miles not to mention speeds up to 70 MPH. You do the math, this product will revolutionize personal transportation, and it is a serious solution to the oil crisis. This product cannot get off the ground on its own though, automotive companies need to invest. Sure, hybrid systems can double or even tripple the MPG of gasoline powered vehicles, but can they beat a meger $2 to run an air compressor to fuel up a CAT automobile? Read Moreandmore...
Limewire Woes Limewire, the world’s largest P2P client, has now been sued by a few of the largest music labels around. The lawsuit states that limeWire encourages its users to distribute copyrighted material illegally. This however is false. To actually download the software, you have to say that you do not intend to steal music. Though it’s not much, it’s still more than anyone else is doing at the moment. As of now, the lawsuit Caution: Book: The World Is Flat - A Brief History of the 21st Century In this brilliant new book, the award-winning New York Times columnist Thomas Friedman demystifies the brave new world for readers, allowing them to make sense of the often bewildering global scene unfolding before their eyes. With his inimitable ability to translate complex foreign policy and economic issues, Friedman explains how the flattening of the world happened at the dawn of the twenty-first century; what As Friedman notes, no single invention brought about these changes; he identifies ten technologies that have worked with cultural and business practices to flatten the business world. The first "flattener," launched close to the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989, was Microsoft Windows. It created a common platform that people could use regardless of language or culture, allowing information to be digitized and thus more easily shared than ever before. Windows gave rise to the Netscape browser, Friedman's second flattener, which gave people a way to connect and communicate with each other across the World Wide Web, the visual component of the Internet, and allowed them to traverse disparate types of operating systems. These technologies, in turn, enabled the third flattener: workflow software. Taking advantage of Microsoft Windows and Netscape, technologies such as XML and SOAP enabled users to exchange digitized work among diverse software programs, regardless of where they were or what programs they were using. This is caused by an unregistered system file in which your computer does not know how to handle. The reason it becomes unregistered? With my recent investment in a Dell e1505 Inspiron laptop, my interest in a speedy laptop became a new ideal. Equipped with my laptop, was a T7200 Dual Core 2 proc running at 2.00 GHz. I read up on the proc and also read some head to head reviews on the competitors proc, the AMD Athlon 64 x2 6000+. The results showed intel's proc chugging ahead of the pack. After some hands on testing of my own I realized, Dual Core technology is awesome in many respects. First off, I love the "multi-tasking" abilities. While rendering a complex MasterCAM project, I can keep my productivity alive with only 50% of the processor being used! This was easily seen in my Task Manager, as the rendering program was displaying 50% CPU usage. Conclusion: Dual Core is worth the investment, especially for multi-tasking.
The "failure to launch" of Microsoft's Windows Vista has prompted a rush to development of their newest operating system Dubbed Windows 7 due in 2010. The failure of Vista has drawn questions and more anticipation than ever towards the new OS which quite frankly has little to live up to. With proper development and testing, Windows 7 may very well turn out to be the god send Microsoft is looking for, but there are far more expectations than ever before. The best thing to do would be to stay optimistic, as development continues and beta versions leak to the general public. CNET Special Coverage:
these experimental builds of both firefox and firebird in x64 versions. I've tinkered around with these softwares and so far, I am very impressed. The Firebird build streamlines almost flawlessly from its x32 brother. The exceptionally fast load time is great! The x64 version of firefox coded "Bon Echo" is also exceptionally fast but lacks WMP plugin capabilities. I would love to see this fixed but right now I'll have to deal with it. Keep up the good work Vector64! Check out Vector64's downloads
